This tour starts from your Hotel or Julius Kambarage Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam and ends in Zanzibar ideal for travelers who wish to combine the bush and beach experience. The tour involves a mix of road and flight transfers between the destinations. Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve) is geographically located close to Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar and forms the Southern Safari Circuit.

Itinerary

In the morning your guide will pick you up from your Hotel in Dar es Salaam or Julius Kambararge Nyerere International Airport (depending on your arrival time) and drive to Nyerere National Park arriving in time for a hot lunch. In the afternoon you’ll go on a thrilling boat safari on the Rufiji River where you’ll see hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat. Your guide will also be able to point out interesting birds and plant species during this trip

This morning after breakfast you’ll have a full day of game viewing in Nyerere National Park taking a packed lunch with you to maximize your game drive time. The Selous Game Reserve is bigger than Switzerland and Denmark so it takes a long time to explore properly but your guide will know the best places to go. This will be a special day spent exploring the wilderness in the biggest protected game reserve in Africa and viewing diverse wildlife which includes elephant, giraffe, zebra, eland, kudu, wildebeest, antelope, tree-climbing lion, leopard, wild dog, jackal, and an amazing array of colorful birds

This day in the early morning you will go for a bush walking tour with bushmen and see interesting plants and animal species as well as enjoy nature and landscapes. After 2 hours of walking return to the Camp for the breakfast. Alternatively, you can go for a boat safari on the mighty Rufiji River but also depending on your flight time you can do both boating and walking safari with minimal additional costs
